June 13, 2019:

I can’t believe it has only been 2 weeks since we had Herc. He could not be more perfect. We are all in love and couldn’t ask for a more perfect addition to our family. He and Ginger do very well. They are now alone in the house, free reign, all day if we are gone. I had a camera on them at first, but they really have no issues. The dogs now play tug of war and wrestle. Herc often wrestles a little longer than Ginger would like, so she reminds him that is enough and he is respecting her. Herc loves his people and follows us everywhere. He is always up for getting extra attention. He learns so fast. He does not go on any furniture, except the boy's beds. He will come up on our bed, but only when he get the invitation. He loves going for walks with Ginger. He will walk right next to her and occasionally turn his head to give her a quick lick. He follows Ginger out in the yard, not on a leash, and will go potty and run right back into the house. His favorite is having a house full of teenagers. He adores all the attention. Thank you again for this furry ball of love. He exhibits 100% of the golden traits we adore. We can’t thank you enough for picking us. I could go on and on!

May 8, 2019:

Hi. This is Hercules again. I have finished my heartworm treatments. I am good to go to a wonderful forever family. I was neutered too whatever that means. My foster mom learned that I lived with another dog and love kids so I am dreaming of a dog to play with and some older kids to give me lots of love. I will give that love right back too. My foster mom thinks I am the sweetest dog in the world. She is right you know.

Hi This is Hercules again. I am so excited because I have finished my three big heartworm treatments. I just need a little more time to be quiet and let those heartworms disappear. Then I will be able to go on walks and chase balls. I can hardly wait. It is hard when you are four and can only walk around the yard on a leash. Spring is here and this boy wants to get out and explore the world.

Hercules is doing well and has completed his heart worm treatments but still has a ways to go before he can be adopted.

Hi! This is Hercules. I just loved all that snow. I like to put my nose in it. Wish I could have played and rolled in it too. But my heartworm rules said no. But back to the good things in my life. I do love my bear. We play and snuggle together a lot. His left arm is a little chewed but he doesn't seem to mind. He still is FUN!

Hercules is currently receiving treatment for heartworm and is doing well. Keeping him quiet has been the greatest challenge.

January 10, 2019:

Hi, Hercules here! I thought I would take a quick break from looking out the patio window to give you all an update on how I am doing. The short story is - I am doing great and loving my life in GRRoW! My favorite activity lately is lying in the sunshine surrounded by my toys. I don’t think anything could feel much better than relaxing in the sun with my toys!!! On the health front, I received really good news from the vet. The level of heartworms I have is not as bad as they originally thought, so I have a great chance of total recovery. I’m now in the first part of my heartworm treatment, so the vet said I can no longer go for long walks. Being an active boy, this new rule of not walking far is really putting a wrench in my normal daily routine! I mean what’s a beautiful golden boy like me to do to get his energy out without walks? And, there are only so many new good smells to smell in my yard. (Sigh!) To help, my foster mom has started giving me doggy puzzles to solve. She said the puzzles will help “work my brain.” Shhh...don’t tell her, but I’m not really sure what she is talking about with the whole “work” comment. I just think these puzzles are TOTAL FUN!!! And, I don’t mean to brag (well, too much), but I completed a Level 2 puzzle in one minute the first time around! Oh yeah, whose a good, smart boy? Yep, you guessed it, “Herc is the good, smart boy!” Well, I need to get back to the patio door. I see some squirrels out there that I better keep an eye on! Talk with you again soon...

December 27, 2018:
Hi Everyone, This is Hercules here writing to tell you all about the new boy at GRRoW...me! I am a happy four-year-old boy who LOVES people and is eager to please. I get pretty excited and jumpy when meeting people, but can you blame me? People mean attention and fun, and I love both!! I came to GRRoW because I am heart worm positive, so I am getting treated for that right now. Then when I am heart worm free, my foster mom says I will go back to the vet to get neutered. I am not quite sure what that means, but I sure like all the attention I get at the vet's office so neutering can't be anything too bad. My foster mom tells me every day what a great boy I am. I know basic commands and she says that if I work hard that in no time at all I will know how to greet people without so much exuberance. I'll check in with you later. I see a free hand that is available to pet me right now, so I have to go get some more love!
