September 30, 2017:

We went to the vet on Tuesday, and they're both in generally good health. Angel's ear infection has returned, so we have her on an antibiotic, and both she and Cliffy are taking a "seasonal"allergy medication. Our vet, Dr. James Pape at Heritage Animal Hospital in Greenville, said that we can see if this medication gets them through this allergy season, and then go from there. Angel has a follow-up appointment in two weeks to check her ears.

They sure were goofballs at the vet. First they were excited, then they laid down, and they were perfect with Dr. Pape. He said Cliff is a real character, which he is. These two dogs are superstars, and we are all doing very well. They love to go for rides and walks. Angel still likes her ball, but she's not as obsessed as she was, and we are continuing to work with her on that. The other day, we couldn't find Cliffy anywhere, and finally, after we hollered for him out back, he popped his head up out of the compost crate at the end of the yard. Somehow, he jumped in there, and was having a picnic on corn cobs. It was funny, but we are keeping him out of there anyway, because we don't want him to eat anything that will make him sick. What a goof.

They seem happy, and even though I know they miss you, I think they are enjoying life here. My nephews love to play frisbee with them, and can actually wear them out. We love them very much, and we thank you for helping us find them!

September 11, 2017:

Angel is ready for her forever home. If you want a dog that can play fetch for hours she is the one for you. I cannot believe how she can just keep going. We played for quite awhile today and she took a short nap and played some more. She walks very well on a leash and stays in the yard. She is good with all dogs, kids and cats. She does have some allergies so she is on Apoquel. They Zyrtec was not getting the job done. Her ears have been clear too. We also found out that she will go swimming. She is struggling with getting weight off but her thyroid check came back fine. She is a delightful companion.

Angel is also doing well. She has lost some weight. I still cannot believe how she runs and chases a ball when she is so heavy. She also went on a 2.5 mile walk with Murphy and I. She has a lot of energy when she is moving but crashes at night. She could play fetch until she dropped. She likes to place the ball in laundry baskets, the grill's ash pan and wherever we are working. You have to throw it just so you can finish what you are doing. She prefers to sleep on the floor in the kitchen while Clifford is right next to my bed. She is still battling her ear infection. It was cleared for about three days. She doesn't mind the meds at all or getting them cleaned. She is on Claritin once a day for allergies. She has been itching her face a lot so I will be taking her in to see what that is all about.

July 15, 2017:

Angel came in with her brother, Clifford. She too is overweight. I am a bit baffled since she can play fetch until I pretty much call it quits. She doesn't care that it is hot out at all. We have to hide the balls from her in the house. She will place one in your lap and want to play fetch in the house and will not give up. She will bark if you do not throw a ball for her outside and inside. She too loves the toy bin. She does have allergies so she is on benedryl. It has worked very well for her. She also has a bad ear infection. We got to the doctor tomorrow and will end up with some sort of medication for it.

She is doing well with the dogs in the house. There was a small amount of growling towards one of the other females but all is well. She likes to sleep in the kitchen or living room. She also came in smelling horrible. She did well with the bath but not as accepting of brushing as her brother. She gets along with all ages of children and ignores the cat and chickens.
