Adoption Date: 7/13/2019
July 13, 2019:
Duchess has been adopted. Duchess successfully made it through spay surgery with flying colors. She has completely adjusted to farm life and enjoys watching the horses and playing with the cats. She has become really close to my youngest daughter as this was the bedroom where she spent her first night. While my daughter was on a sleepover, Duchess kept bringing toys to her door and barked at the door to see if she would come out to play. That is when she had us. We all love her including her two older adoptive brothers.

Duchess has had her wellness exam and passed with flying colors. Although very shy at the vet, her social skills are improving. Her next visit is to get spayed. Duchess is full of puppy cuteness along with those expected nuances like finding shoes and socks to chew on, jumping, and excessive energy. Therefore, hard playing and exercise outside for 4 plus hours and she is usually ready to nap. The two resident dogs have taught her to settle down once inside the house. If she doesn’t, they tell her in dog language “no” and she retreats to her happy place like the bedroom floor. Her leash training is coming along albeit slowly, it improves each day. She has learned to wait for meals and her obedience training to progressing nicely. Overall, she is a happy, healthy energetic puppy

Duchess has settled in to her foster home. She is a bundle of energy, loves to play fetch, and is very curious about all the farm smells. So far she gets along great with her two big brothers and even met her first cat with no issues. She plays hard outside and settles right down inside. Duchess is still learning proper leash etiquette and not to jump on people. She loves her crate and the toys that are all hers. This is a high energy puppy with some typical puppy behaviors.
