Canela and Alex are doing awesome, getting lots of love. They both are mommy’s babies. Canela loves to play with all the toys I have gotten for them but I think her favorite toy is a football. Alex even likes most of them.
Alex loves to cuddle with me when I come home from work and Canela gets jealous so she has to get in there too. LOL Alex is sitting more and has even jumped up on me which surprised me. Canela loves the fact she can lay on the couch and the way she lays sometimes makes me laugh,
Our daughters love to play with them and cuddle. They both help out with taking them out to potty and for walks.

Alexander and Canela moved into their forever home on Thursday. They did great their first night and Canela is loving that she's allowed to sit on the couch! Alex snored in the night so we know he slept well. They have new toys and two young girls in the family to play with. They're going to like their new home.

Happy Monday from Alex and Canela, our foster pups! We took them in back in August and they are clearly feeling better these days after we got all of their medical issues cleared up. They LOVE people of all ages, but Canela is not such a fan of other dogs. So, we are working with a trainer to help her deal with her anxiety and be able to enjoy her walks when other dogs are present. Alex is a big, goofy, giant ball of fur who loves casual walks and the occasional romp in the backyard while Canela is high speed, and loves to chase a tennis ball as much as she loves being petted and groomed. They are both very sweet dogs!

Alexander came into GRRoW with Canela on August 11. They are a bonded pair and should be adopted together. He is 8 years old. Because he had some bloody diarrhea we had the vet check him out. He had hookworm and has been treated for it. Alex is a gentle giant weighing in at 98 pounds and is tall enough to table surf, if he wanted to (although he doesn't!). He gets along well with people and dogs alike. He likes short walks and we are working on building up his walking stamina. His hip muscles are quite atrophied. He either stands or lies down as sitting is quite painful for him because of early-onset arthritis. The vet put him on a fish oil supplement. Hopefully that will help. While he shows interest in squeaky tennis balls and toys he doesn't seem to know what to do with them. He doesn't respond to any commands (in English or Spanish), but does respond very well to treats! He loves to nudge my hand when he wants to be petted, or stick his big head right underneath my arm when I'm sitting at my desk working. He is scheduled for his neuter and X-rays (hips and back) next week, September 15. He's a very sweet boy!
