April 4th, 2017:
Today I had to say good-bye to Tanner. He lived his life to the fullest. I will miss his goofy little food dance.
January 27th, 2017:
We have had Tanner for about one year. I am still in disbelief that he has lived this long. He is doing very well for his age (15). He can hear and see great. He loves to meander around our property at his own pace (slow). He is having some bowel incontinence. He generally makes it outside to pee but has just started having a couple accidents in the house. He still dances when he thinks he is going to get something to eat. He is quite the character.
December 28th, 2016:
Well, Tanner is now 15 years old and still doing well for an old guy. He was losing a lot of weight for no apparent reason. He has gained some back with eating puppy food and about four cups a day. He still gets around pretty well. He will fall on the tile floor at times but can still get up. He has poopy accidents almost daily with some happening in his sleep.
August 30th, 2016:
This old guy is still holding up. He has had some issue with not quite making it outside to poop and leaves a trail behind him. He still does his "dance" when he wants to eat and LOVES food. He meanders around the yard at his slow pace to see what is going on then comes back in the house. He is doing very well for an old guy who will be 15 in October. We go for a vet check this coming weekend as he is losing weight.
March 15th, 2016:
Due to Tanner's health conditions he has become a forever foster. He is doing fairly well. He is on medications for pain and arthritis. He loves his treats, kongs and meal times. Loves to be petted and brushed. We got for short walks with him around the yard. He can still do about five stairs. We have a ramp for him to go up and down on but he will only go down it. He is a goofy old fella.
February 16th, 2016:
Tanner had his first vet appointment since 2007. His stool sample and 4DX came back normal. His other blood work will be in in a couple days. He has many fatty masses all over his body. He also has two torn ACL in his back legs; arthritis in his elbows, wrists, knees, and back. Also has hip dysplasia. His teeth are a mess with several "channels" of infection. His eyes look good as do his ears. He got his rabies vaccination plus some pain meds; meds for arthritis, floragen, and antibiotics. We will be keeping him as comfortable and happy as we can. Overall he is a delight and very loving. He will walk around our yard with us. He gets very excited when he thinks he will be getting some food. He loves to eat!!! He does his dance for his food. He likes to be rubbed and brushed. Over all he is a wonderful older gentleman.
