This is Gracie. Gracie Johnson. We got Gracie from GRRoW – Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin. As
far as we know Gracie’s first six years were good. Then her previous owner got a job that required a lot
of travel so she had to give Gracie up. We adopted Gracie in September of 2007. Gracie’s next 8 years
are wonderful!! She is spoiled and pretty much gets anything she wants (within reason). She loves to go
for walks, she loves her snausages, she loves to wrestle, she loves to give wet kisses, and she loves to
cuddle. She loves her other two canine sisters, Kali and Cinnamon. She also loves her human siblings
Krista, Marissa and Sam. Gracie went to the Rainbow Bridge Wednesday, May 6. Her back legs wouldn’t
work anymore. She couldn’t get up. She was 13 years, 11 months and 10 days, but we’ll say she was 14.
We all miss her very, very much.
There is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone
here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they
can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or
maimed are made strong and whole again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times
gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very
special to them, who had been left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
Her bright eyes are intent; her eager body quivers. Suddenly she begins to run from the group, flying
over the green grass; her legs carry her faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous
reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the
beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gong from life but
never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together…
