Chase found his forever home just in time for Christmas!!!!
Alexander and Canela moved into their forever home on Thursday. They did great their first night and Canela is loving that she's allowed to sit on the couch! Alex snored in the night so we know he slept well. They have new toys and two young girls in the family to play with. They're going to like their new home.
We just started fostering Simba. You would never know he is a shy dog. Last night, he wanted to play and play with all his toys and just didn't seem to tire. A friend stopped by and Simba wasn't the least bit shy with him. Simba was playful and affectionate, sharing kisses with everyone. He relaxed and slept through the night in our bedroom. This morning he gently woke us to go outside for his walk and snuggled with us and gave us more kisses. He has had his breakfast and now wants to play again. He is so very sweet! We will take our time gradually introducing him to new people so that he can gain his confidence. In time, we will introduce him to other dogs. So far, we are off to a fabulous start!
Bailey has been in her foster home for a few months now and continues to have some issues so her foster mom took her to the vet for some xrays, it appears Bailey has some spinal and hip issues and the vet suggested trying pain medications. Bailey is a very sweet girl, who clearly is in pain, we hope we can get this under control for her. We will update you on her progress soon.
Simba is new in foster care. More information to follow.
Oscar is settling into his new foster home. He's a playful and we'll-mannered 1.5 year old. He loves playing fetch, running in the backyard and exploring. He had a fun trip through the woods, especially after about 15 minutes when he suddenly realized he was surrounded by sticks. So many sticks! He gets along with the resident Golden, cats and kids. He had a skin infection when he arrived that's been treated with antibiotics and now we are trying to get his allergies/itchiness under control. He is gaining confidence every day and is a sweet, sweet boy.

Nala loves to stalk the squirrels in the yard. She will also say hello to any neighbor or dog that comes over. Nala enjoys playing with Payton and snuggling with him on the sofa. Nala will run and play so much during the day that all of a sudden she will curl up and go to sleep, the next thing you know she is snoring. Such a joy to have in our family!
Soon after he was adopted, Champ got ver sick very quickly. He crossed the bridge on October 10. He touched a lot of lives very deeply in a short period of time.
Comet got a clean bill of health and was adopted by her foster home. She is learning to bond with her two golden siblings.
Macy settled into her foster home so well that she has now become a permanent part of their family.
We are pleased to let you know that Molly has found her forever home. She gets lots of love and attention and is a big hit with all the humans in her new family. Thanks for checking in on her!
Barney came into GRRoW on Monday 12-5, he's a sweet beautiful boy who has some medical issues that need to be addressed. Please welcome Barney into GRRoW.

Will has had a lot going on. He went in for his dental and had a tooth pulled. They also drained a cyst and took cytology slides of his skin. He has a bacterial infection which is resistant to a lot of antibiotics. We did find one that is working. He will have an additional week to be sure it is all gone. Now that it is older out we have stopped the medication for allergies. He is a very good dog. He has become very lovable and will ask for attention and petting. He still loves to be brushed but bathing has been quite a struggle. It takes two of us to get him into the tub. He loves to roll around and play in the snow. We have figured out he is hard of hearing and we have to speak to him really loud to get him to respond to us. He know sit, down, stay, and come. His recall outside is iffy if he is doing something he wants to do. You cannot run toward him as he will run. He is becoming more and more energetic and is running around more.
Ollie is beginning to settle down as he acclimates to his foster home. He is playing well with our resident goldenn, and plays well with the kiddos too. He still is a ball of non-stop energy, but is always willing to snuggle. We're working on getting Ollie onto a feeding schedule, and walking lots to keep him happy. Ollie does pull a lot, but is learning very quickly. Ollie is a sweet, eager to please puppy, that loves to play and run around outside.
Nutmeg went to her forever home on Thanksgiving. She will be with a family who has no children in the home. Her new home has a fenced in yard, a cat, and an older golden retriever to keep her busy. She is expecting lots of walks and can't wait to get up to that cabin up north. More later as she learns more about her new home and forever family.
Tuesday November 22nd at 12noon Rozzy laid in our arms on the floor at the vets and took his last breath. There were many tears from not just us but the vet staff as well. Fozzy was very much loved by all that knew him, he was a gentle goofy boy who loved food, walks, balls and more food as well as sitting on our lap and just generally being pet. He never had a cross word for anyone except the puppy when he would try to take his bone.
Our big guy was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago. He was doing good and you wouldn't have known he was sick until the last week or so.
Rozzy/Rozco had just turned 9 in October, he joined our family in June of 2014. We were blessed with 2+years with him, our only regret is that it couldn't have been longer, but to keep him here longer would have meant his suffering and we never wanted that for him he already suffered so much with his allergies.
God speed my sweet boy, run free, we love you
mom and dad
Al and Canela will give back the gift of love for years to come. These two are a bonded pair and ready to go to their forever home together. Al is eight, described by his foster family as a big, goofy, giant ball of fur! He is a very mellow, laid-back guy. Canela is three, a very smart girl, quick to learn, and more energetic than her pal. She has some dog-reactivity issues that are improving, but will need continuing practice of her training in order to build her confidence. For this reason Al and Canela must be the only dogs in their adoptive home. The criteria for their new home are: Home with no other dogs, children are okay, someone committed to continuing Canela’s training, home that can provide prescription food for Canela, A fenced yard is preferred, but not required. If you meet the above criteria and are interested in adopting this pair, please contact the Foster Coordinator at email@example.com
November 19th, 2016:
The Little Princess continues to blossom and grow every day. Lately she's been stepping out of her comfort zone and even asks to go along on rides. Over the weekend we stopped at a small local pet store to pick up a bag of food, and while there were all sorts of smells of other dogs that seemed a little scary, the smell of yummy treats and good food won out. (That and we were only there for about five minutes!) Bella seems to really enjoy making people friends. She squeaks and seeks attention from anyone one who is willing to offer it (very much like my last Golden -- I would swear he'd let a burglar in to the house and show them the valuables as long as he'd get a pat on the head!) Other four-legged friends are sort of hit-and-miss, so we approach those friendships very cautiously. It seems that as long as she meets a new dog on "their" turf she is more apt to not be stinky about it. If, however, you are coming in to HER castle, she will pout (yes, pout!) if another dog is getting her attention. Bella is very observant and while Miley the day-care-dog is not her favorite friend, she seems to have watched the joy that Miley finds in life and she has started exhibiting some of Miley's silly, happy behavior (only when Miley is not around ) Meaning, she has started running around the yard and teasing with you. She "dances" for her dinner every night and is becoming more and more animated with me during our little ritual, which always end by sitting like a lady before her dinner is presented to her. She definitely knows her name and is learning some simple commands. "Sit" is a gold star task. "Come" is getting there, especially if a whistle is used. "Stay" -- well, we still have work to do, okay? The leash still isn't a favorite, but pink is indeed a Princess's color and as long as it doesn't stay on long, is tolerable. On nice days, outside is a good place to be and there are favorite garden spots to check if Bella isn't immediately sited. She loves to explore the fenced in yard and was even observed giving a bunny a chase just the other day! Almost no more crawling... only on rare occasions when she is intimidated for some reason, or scared... but fewer and fewer observations of that behavior. It is truly a blessing to watch this little girl grow in confidence. She is very happy and content most of the time. The only time she fusses seems to be if there is a time she can't go along on a ride and needs to stay home. We have had no bathroom accidents, no behavior accidents, only a snappy incident with Miley -- never at any other time or with any other animal (still watching that though -- work to do in socialization -- but slowly but surely coming along). Bella is a joy, and it is indeed an honor to be entrusted with her care. To tell the truth -- it's not just Bella who is blossoming .

This striking 20" long necklace has a 1" wide heart surrounded by sterling silver with rhodium (925) and gold plating and AAA cubic zirconia stones that sparkle just enough to highlight the beautiful gold plated Golden Retriever standing at point in the center.
Here I am hard at work. Didn't know life would be so different here. My foster mom says I have come a long way but still have "fine tuning" that needs to be done. All I know is I love my life, I play a lot (got a lot of energy to burn) with my fur sister, she loves to swim, me I get the feet wet and watch her.
I love to meet new people and go places and food I could eat all day long.
Gotta go time for nightly walk and playtime, don't want to miss that.
