Addie was adopted! I wanted to give you all an update on Addie. I'll start with her behaviors: When Addie got here, she parked on the couch in one particular spot. Now she will move around on the couch. I noticed she is lying on her side now. Why is that significant? We know with our other rescue, Abner, that when he is truly relaxed he will go on his side. Maybe Addie is relaxing more now that she has been here a week? Addie has not ventured to any other room in her home. She stays in the family room exclusively. Our Abner was the same way when we got him. I have to feed Addie by hand on the couch. I hear her at night when I go to bed drinking her water. This is important because it indicates she knows where her food and water are located. I have her separate from the boys. She has a pink mat and new bowls. I am going to leave her food at night to see if she will eat as well as drink. Once again, we experienced this with Abner. He will still run away if you come near him when he is eating. Addie will go outside when I use the leash (thanks Deb). She clearly wants to be in the house, but the sunlight will help with her emotional state so I want her to get the sunlight into her retinas and enjoy the warmth. She still follows me around and is anxious to get back into the house. She has not yet investigated her yard around the perimeter like her brothers but in time I believe she will.
