Bailey sailed through her exam today with flying colors! She is now a healthy 42 pounds and has no heart murmur. She received her remaining vaccinations and was microchipped. Using peanut butter in a tube, I was able to get Bailey through the exam w/o the assistance of a veterinary technician. I provided another stool sample since she had hookworms at the last visit and I should hear something in the next few days if it is positive.
Bailey has come a long way in the last few weeks but needs a lot of attention and patience to reach her full potential. She should go to a family who is willing to take her to puppy classes.
She would do best in a home with someone who is there a good portion of the day. She definitely can be crated 4 hours or so but she still needs work on potty training. The family would also need to continue working with her on crate training since she is not potty trained.
If the yard is not fenced-in, she will have to be kept on a leash. While she will respond to the command "come," I would not trust her if she saw a squirrel, rabbit, etc.
