It’s a big day for Mickey. Today he will have surgery on his left shoulder - arthroscopy - shoulder OCD – unilateral.
He's been limping off and on for a while. He’s had x-rays taken of his shoulder twice and everything looks normal. But Mickey's primary veterinarian wanted to get to the bottom of what is wrong because he could feel muscle atrophy in his shoulder. So off we went to a specialist. And the problem was found! This special doc said, "We need one more special x-ray view. This special view will tell me... what's right over the hill". (What’s behind the big ball that forms his joint)
This morning, Mickey went down the hallway with lots of confidence and only glanced back at his foster mom once. As to say "I got this mom". His confidence is due to all the donated positive reinforcement, science based training he received by a very special person this past summer.
Next up, time for him to heal and then run like the wind. Mickey has his sights on the rabbit in the backyard.
