Gracie continues to do well. She likes children and gets along with them but since she needs to learn some manners and learns not to jump up or get in their face, school aged children would be advisable. She is curious about cats but does not go after them; however, she does chase chipmunks with her two golden brothers. Gracie does not have good recall and does not always respond to her name or to the "here" command so obedience classes or some intense work will be necessary to teach her basic commands. She does respond to "sit" but "down, stay, wait and come" are works in progress. She eats slowly and does not bark even when she hears other dogs barking. She is a quick runner and jumps rather than walks down steps and would probably love some form of agility training. Gracie is a velcro golden and has a bit of separation anxiety that seems to be more relaxed each day. Her greatest fear is of thunder storms and fire works and this is understandable as she was an outside dog all of her life. Medication helps a bit with this anxiety when we can predict the storm. She would love to be in a home with school aged children as well as with another dog who would be tolerant of her. Gracie is an affectionate, cuddly pup who needs someone who will take the time with her to teach her to trust humans and to know that her forever home is really forever!
