October 27th, 2015:
Sage had ACL surgery on Tuesday Oct 13….and he came home on the 14 Wed!! They called at 7 am and said he was ready to go… Unfortunately I wasn’t!! It was a tough 15 minute drive on the way home as Sage wanted nothing to do with the dreaded cone!!! By the time we were 3 blocks away from the office he had managed to get it off by himself…and then promptly went right to sleep!! He has been an absolute trooper through this whole thing….. he started to put weight on his surgery leg by Thursday afternoon…so as you can imagine…keeping him resting is a struggle…. He takes his medicine just before supper and sleeps through the night… His attitude is great except he will give you a look like why don’t I get to go with everyone else??? I will take him out for his bathroom trips and he immediately comes back and lays on the driveway like he is saying can’t we just hang out here for awhile like we use too? And I look back and say outloud it is much windier out now Sage than it was a week or 2 ago…we need to go back inside!! But..if he had his way, hewould lay outside and enjoy the sun and the breeze… The others at my house seem to know he is in sick bay and should be left alone. We will continue to keep him resting until the time comes for him to start rehab.
