Special adoption: However much love you have to give, you will get back twice as much!

Alexander and Canela.jpg

Al and Canela will give back the gift of love for years to come. These two are a bonded pair and ready to go to their forever home together. Al is eight, described by his foster family as a big, goofy, giant ball of fur! He is a very mellow, laid-back guy. Canela is three, a very smart girl, quick to learn, and more energetic than her pal. She has some dog-reactivity issues that are improving, but will need continuing practice of her training in order to build her confidence. For this reason Al and Canela must be the only dogs in their adoptive home. The criteria for their new home are: Home with no other dogs, children are okay, someone committed to continuing Canela’s training, home that can provide prescription food for Canela, A fenced yard is preferred, but not required. If you meet the above criteria and are interested in adopting this pair, please contact the Foster Coordinator at wkstrang@gmail.com

Dear GRRoW Visitors and Supporters,

We have put a hold on our adoption application process until further notice. We are so glad to have heard from so many of you since we reopened adoptions this January, and we are fine-tuning our policies and processes of assessing and preparing our Wisconsin and Puerto Rican dogs for adoption. This is important to us as a rescue organization and to you as potential future adopters and GRRoW volunteers. The state of Wisconsin has laws in place to protect its families and the dogs that are part of them. We pride ourselves in placements that have a less than one percent rate of return, and compliance with state regulations is an important part of this process. While we continue to explore ways to help Golden Retrievers find their forever homes, we also need to find ways to keep up with the requests to adopt them. Please continue to monitor our website, as that will be our primary means of communicating when adoption applications will again be re-opened. In the meantime, please click the "volunteer" tab to find ways to join and support GRRoW to help make it even better! With Gratitude, The GRRoW Board of Directors and Coordinators
