January 10th, 2017:

Summer has settled right in to her new foster home. She has enjoyed her walks and each day tugged less and less on her leash. Before bedtime she has enjoyed playing with the tennis ball, patiently waiting for her foster family to dig the ball out from underneath furniture. She is slowly meeting new people each day and enjoying her new human friends. She has the energy of a younger dog and is a good sleeper. Her foster family is working on desensitizing her to car rides. Summer will see the vet again in a month for a healthy dog check up. Summer has been a great addition to her foster family!

November 8th, 2016:

Summer is a gentle sweetheart who loves attention. She is also great with our three kids and could play fetch with her tennis ball for HOURS...particularly at bedtime :) So far, she prefers to lay outside in the yard to relax when she is not playing with her ball - so a good-sized fenced-in yard would be best for her. She is pretty fickle when it comes to following her commands, unless there is food involved :) Some review would be good. We have also learned pretty quickly that no food is safe if left out on the counter or table. She is pretty good at responding to "no" though, and will avoid it if told to do so. Summer's first vet appointment went well yesterday. We are treating her for a double ear infection (which would explain the smell and all the shaking she has been doing)and all of her blood work came back as clear. We are hoping to schedule her appointment to be spayed in the near future.

Summer is currently available for adoption through our match process only. If you are interested in adopting one of our GRRoW dogs and would like to be added to our list of waiting families, please fill out an application found in the adoption section. Dogs that are available for adoption are then carefully matched with families from the list starting with those who have been waiting the longest. Although we cannot guarantee you will be matched with the dog of your choice, we recommend you mention any dogs you are interested in on your application.
